Natuurlijk bestaat een lied uit twee elementen: tekst en muziek. Als je één van beide weglaat en de song staat nog overeind getuigt dat van kwaliteit. Zo blijken de melodieën van Johan tijdloos en ademen ze nog dezelfde sfeer uit als bij hun creatie. Vandaar dit project “Liedjes zonder woorden”.
De trouwe begeleider van Johan, Leo Caerts speelde piano, Nicolas Thys beroerde de bas en de talentvolle Stéphane Mercier speelde feilloos de melodieën op zijn sax. Het geheel werd ingekleurd met uitmuntende koren. Dank aan Amaranthe, Marie Daulne, Jean-Louis Daulne, de Jody’s Singers voor hun bijdrage en de koorarrangementen van de onvolprezen Philippe Decock. Dan Lacksman tekende voor de techniek.
Of je dit album” Liedjes zonder woorden”, ”Chansons sans paroles” of “Songs without words” noemt, laat je meevoeren op zijn gevoel.

Johan’s melodies are timeless, radiating the same atmosphere they did when first conceived. This is the inspiration behind the project, “Songs Without Words”.
Johan’s devoted accompanist, Leo Caerts graced the piano, Nicolas Thys held down the bass, and the gifted Stéphane Mercier brought the melodies to life on his saxophone. The ensemble was further enriched by extraordinary choral contributions. Special thanks to Amaranthe, Marie Daulne, Jean-Louis Daulne, and the Jody’s Singers for their participation, with choir arrangements crafted by the incomparable Philippe Decock. Dan expertly oversaw the technical production.
